March 15th, 2020 Anouncement

Dear CubeCon participants,

We have been overwhelmed by the community’s enthusiastic support for CubeCon. We are grateful that so many of you have arranged your schedules to participate in this event whose purposes, to spread the love of cube and to grow the cube community, we believe in fervently.

We are thus saddened to announce that we must postpone CubeCon until later in the year. On Sunday, March 15th, the C.D.C. released an advisory statement calling for the cancelation of all gatherings of 50 people or more that are scheduled over the next eight weeks. Given the rapidly developing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, the right and responsible course of action is to push our event back. We have to look after each other and to get through this together, and unfortunately, CubeCon is not conducive to those aims. We look forward to convening at a moment when the world looks happier and the experience of cubing around a table together will be cause for celebration rather than a source of stress.

We are working hard on establishing a firm new date for CubeCon, both with our convention venue and our hotels. We will announce a revised date by the end of March. However, we wanted to announce the postponement now so that you all can begin revising your plans. Many airlines are offering free cancelations or rebookings in light of the current crisis. Here is one resource that collects and continues to update airlines’ policies.

The organizers of CubeCon are deeply sorry to change our plans, but the health and safety of our participants is our number one priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at:

On a final note, we encourage you to follow all C.D.C recommendations to help humanity get through this pandemic: Wash your hands. Be good to yourselves and to others. Isolate if necessary. Let’s meet face to face in a time of greater optimism when we can shake hands and sling bolts without qualms.

Best wishes,
The CubeCon Organizing Committee
